The making of a show poster

I started with an accidentally overexposed photo I took of Bank St.
Street Photo

Added a shot of a couple of my bass pedals.
Pedal Photo

Came up with a rounded font and sketched the band names out.

Made a squared font for the show details.

You know someone's a designer if...

Deconstructed Box

...you catch them dismantling a box that is still being used to see how many colours were used in the printing.

Photoshop Disasters

Photoshop Disaster image

Graphic Designers are often tasked with putting a photo into a piece, that doesn't actually exist. Sometimes it'll be a composite of two people shaking hands, when they only have photos of those individuals shaking hands with other people. It could also be a combination of several images that someone feels would look good in a layout.

Regardless of the request, it's the designers job to create the image, and to do so in a way that no one would be able to tell that anything had been done to the photo (otherwise know as "Photoshopped, or Shopped"). Most designers have their own bag of tricks that they'll use to accomplish this task.

Some don't. Others do but are too rushed to notice an error. Others simply don't care.

Photoshop Disasters is a website I love that showcases glorious failures in the art of photoshopping.

p.s. I've horribly "shopped" the image at the top of this post in some (most) areas. Feel free to point out my "mistakes" in the comments section.

"Well, there's your problem..."

"...You've got a scratched retina. Right in the center of your eye. It's kind of a crescent..."

"Probably about the shape and size of my tumbnail?"

"Yup."

"Awesome."

What is that? #02 - ANSWER

Nicely done Michelle.

Has anyone ever seen someone actually slip on a banana peel? I have. It's even MORE entertaining in real life.
